Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of SignalAI and its assessment platform (the “Service”), operated by SignalAI (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What SignalAI is

SignalAI is a skills assessment platform for software engineers building AI systems. We provide a readiness assessment, a domain-by-domain score report, and course recommendations. We are not a staffing agency, recruiter, or employer. We do not guarantee employment, interviews, or any particular career outcome.

2. Accounts

You sign in using GitHub or LinkedIn OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their explicit consent.

3. The assessment — conduct rules

Our assessments are designed to measure your genuine skill level. When you take an assessment you agree that:

• You are the person completing the assessment, not a proxy or automated agent.
• You will not share question content, answers, or session details with others while an assessment is in progress or afterward.
• You will not use AI tools, external references, or assistance during an assessment beyond what is explicitly permitted.
• You will answer on your own merits. Automated, scripted, or bulk submissions intended to game the assessment are prohibited.

We reserve the right to invalidate scores, suspend accounts, or remove verified badges if we detect conduct that violates these rules or undermines the integrity of results.

4. Your results and profile

Your assessment results — domain scores, readiness verdict, and course recommendations — are private by default. Only you can see them. You may choose to publish a public profile (“/p/your-handle”) that shows your verified verdict, domain levels, and role-fit summary. You control what is published and can update or delete your public profile at any time.

Verified scores expire 18 months after issue. After expiry, a score is no longer shown as verified; your account and history remain accessible.

You own your results. We do not sell individual results to third parties. Employers who access the platform can view only the information you have chosen to make public on your profile.

5. Employer access

Employers pay for access to browse verified builder profiles on our platform. They see only the information you have made public — your handle, verdict, domain levels, and role-fit summary. They do not receive your individual question responses, session-level data, or private notes. You are never automatically surfaced to employers; browsing access requires you to have an active public profile.

6. Intellectual property

The assessment questions, scoring methodology, platform software, and design are owned by SignalAI. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit assessment content without our written consent. Your profile content (bio, projects, stated experience) remains yours, and you grant us a limited license to display it on the platform as directed by you.

7. Third-party courses

Course recommendations point to content on third-party platforms (DeepLearning.AI, Anthropic Academy, Coursera, and others). We are not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or availability of third-party content. These recommendations are editorial choices based on our assessment of course quality and domain coverage; we have no commercial arrangement with most providers.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that assessment results are error-free, that the platform will be uninterrupted, or that any particular score will lead to any employment outcome. Assessment results are intended as a directional diagnostic, not a certification or professional qualification.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SignalAI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of employment opportunity, loss of data, or loss of business. Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent assessment conduct, or misuse the platform. Upon termination, your public profile is removed and your data is deleted or anonymised within 90 days, subject to our legal retention obligations.

11. Changes to these Terms

We will notify you of material changes by posting an updated effective date and, for significant changes, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
